Specialists will manage own schedule.  Regular M-F 8a-430pm with occasional early morning or later evening shifts, occasional weekends, up to 50% travel.

Job Summary

The Sr. Technical Operations Specialist acting  under the leadership of the Sr. Technical
Laboratory Manager is responsible for providing technical support for multiple
aspects of test standardization across the Esoteric business units. Work with
Esoteric Technical Sr. Managers and other Esoteric leaders to develop Test and
platform standards.  Job duties include coordination of multiple project tasks simultaneously, and may also include serving as a primary point of contact over a specific activity.

Job Accountabilities

Supports multiple aspects of standardization of testing across the Esoteric Region including
methodology and platform optimization

Supports definition of requirements and standards in platforms

Works with project/program owners to craft business & functional requirements and
refine user acceptance testing plans

Supports development of training & competency materials

Occasionally works in the various Esoteric labs to support a common working knowledge of
standard EBU tests and standard LIS and workflow processes

Participates in development of other tools relating to test, Instrument/Platform and
Interface to LIS standardization and deployment

Ensures all required regulatory documentations and processes are met

Supports Instrument, software upgrades – supports assessment of impact to LIS and local

Supports equipment choice – supports assessment of impact to LIS and local operations

Builds capability for new testing processes – working with Esoteric Sr. Managers,
National Laboratory Operations, and franchise teams

Audits laboratories for non-conformance to process standardization

Job Requirements- Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Degree in Biological Science required

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory
environment. Extensive technical knowledge in desired technical discipline
testing required. Ability to multi-taskPossess excellent analytical skills

Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision

Must be self–starter

Ability to follow verbal or written instructions

Effective verbal and written communication

Comfortable with making independent decisions

Ability to exercise critical thinking and independent judgment in stressful environments

Ability to concentrate on tasks

Ability to adjust to quickly changing environment

Must be detail oriented

Must be flexible in schedule, both in days and hours

Required to sit for long periods of time for conference calls and travel

Possess strong computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel & Power Point)

Critical Know How and Skill – Selection Criteria

Clinical and technical expertise in Lab Operations,
standard LIS functionality, instrument interface development, and workflow

Experience with laboratory instrumentation and
software (hands-on experience with laboratory automation and interface
validation is a plus)

Experience with writing and editing  SOPs

Experience with Process Improvement – QMS Bronze or
Silver certification is a plus

Excellent oral and written communications skills with
both technical and non-technical information

Excellent presentation skills

Methodical, detail oriented, efficient, organized,
highly productive

Excellent organizational, time management, analytical,
and problem solving skills

Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple
priorities, and complete tasks on time within a fast paced environment.
