Clinical Franchises:

At Quest Diagnostics, the Clinical Franchises take a deep dive into their respective areas to assess market conditions, profitability, new innovations, and changes to clinical practice to implement enhancements that keep Quest in the forefront of enabling better health with diagnostic insights. The seven clinical franchises were put in place to focus on value creation in major clinical areas and include Infectious Disease & Immunology (IDI), Cardiovascular, General Health, Neurology, Prescription Drug Monitoring & Toxicology, Cancer Diagnostics, and Women’s & Reproductive Health.

The goal of the IDI franchise is focused on empowering customers with actionable insights so that they can improve treatment decisions and patients overall quality of life. The IDI segment includes Chronic Viral (HBV; HIV; HCV); Core Infectious Diseases; Transplant; Autoimmune; and Allergy. We do this by working with our Research and Development team in growing esoteric testing volume and revenues through innovative new products as Quest Diagnostics is dedicated to providing infectious disease specialists and other physicians with insights that can improve patient health. IDI is the second largest Franchise at over $1 billion+.

Position Description:

The Senior Product Director leads the life cycle management and new solution creation for the Chronic
Viral & Transplant segment within the IDI Clinical Franchise through two direct reports as well as a cross-functional team.  S/He advocates priorities and a business case to the General Manager of the IDI Clinical Franchise and wins support to execute strategies through the value-delivery organization. The role will be based at the Company’s New Jersey headquarters.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Annual Operating Plan and segment strategy including forecasts and budget; Collect
    and incorporate voice of customer

  • Develop and execute customer insight driven  life-cycle management plan across the segment
    offerings through robust cross-functional team management; assure the execution of the Annual Operating Plan for the segment (e.g. case studies, HE&OR, pricing, contracting, reimbursement)

  • Monitor and report segment performance to target, competitive environment, and segment trends; Provide regular updates to senior management and identify any actions plans needed to drive growth

  • Define customer/market segment requirements to set product/portfolio solution,
    priority setting, risk management

  • Lead cross functional teams including R&D, operations, IT , marketing, and others  to develop and implement product solutions to serve unmet customer needs and drive profitable growth

  • Define requirements for partnerships, alliances, ventures for assigned segment and
    manage the chosen relationships; Identify strategic partnership opportunities

  • Liaise with sales to develop a call Point Strategy

  • Manage a cross-functional, virtual team to assure alignment and focus on shared
    results

  • Management of 2 direct reports 



Accountability Metrics:

  • Development of Annual Operating Plan

  • Development of 3-year Strategic Plan

  • Margin, Cost, Outside Spend, Contribution Margin, Net Profit, Volume

  • Growth rate (YoY & CAGR), Market Share, Revenue, Volume, ROI analysis

Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, marketing and/or product
    management; an advanced degree/MBA is preferred

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • Previous P&L management experience preferred

  • Infectious Disease experience strongly preferred
