Position Description:

 

Responsible for leading and managing the East Region Logistics team to ensure compliance with all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 15+ years progressive managerial experience in supply chain, logistics or transportation leadership roles and/or a customer support environment.

  • Ability to successfully direct exempt and non-exempt employees.

  • Demonstrates ability to successfully manage change implementation within a diverse, geographically dispersed team environment and influence team members without direct authority.

  • Originate and develop new ideas and concepts in order to create unique and alternative solutions to customer support problems.

  • Good judgment and a common sense approach in decision-making even when dealing with complex problems.

  • Travel required: 50+%

  • Experience with Operational Excellence, Lean and Six Sigma certification preferred, or
    ability to successfully complete green belt training.

  • Must be well organized and detail oriented with proven initiative and self-starter
    skills.

  • Inspirational leader who oversees the regional logistics operational performance and ensure
    continuous improvement of logistics routes and RSR processes & procedures.
    Identify opportunities for improvement and elimination of non-value added
    tasks.

  • Manage change implementation and control project scope and timeline.  Provides direction and coordination of logistics personnel to ensure project progresses with quality.  Provides support to logistics teams to ensure that new account set-up, route stop issues, pick-up service and route software analysis are consistently reviewed, updated and optimized.

  • Ensure collaboration throughout the value chain including Logistics, Patient Services,
    Specimen Management,  Technical Lab, Sales and the National Logistics team to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient logistics operational objectives are being accomplished.

  • Experience in managing third-party logistics partners with expertise in striking a balance between cost and quality.

  • Knowledgeable and real-world expertise of operating in an organized labor environment, 
    NMFA experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated collaboration in working with remote-based Dispatch Operations.

  • Experience in managing fleet operations, fuel and auto maintenance programs.

  • Develop, review and interpret operational reports and metrics used in assessing effectiveness and efficiencies of the business. Measure and report on projects’ performance and success.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the design and functions of the national dispatching
    system (Ortec), route optimization tool (RiMMS) and national tracking system
    (QDSTS).

  • Conduct root cause analyses, and develop corrective measures for operational
    continuity.

  • Develop and implement recommendations to the Executive Director of Logistics and
    National Logistics team to increase operational effectiveness and improve
    customer satisfaction.

  • Effectively translate and communicate company objectives to subordinates. Responsible for
    and involved in managing employee engagement, team-building, training, and the performance review process. Involved in the budget and forecasting process, as well as sharing in the P&L responsibility.

    customer support, supply chain management and the use of technology in
    logistics

  • Understanding of financial concepts (budget, forecasting and variance analysis) and
    associated tools

  • Proven track record of successful talent and financial management

    technology

  • Solid interpersonal skills: verbal & written communication skills
