Medical Records Assistant I - Lees Summit, MO - Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Responsible for obtaining Attending Physician Statements. 


  • Communicate with facilities, copy services, applicants, and clients to obtain Attending Physician Statements in the most time efficient manner possible.   
  • Prepare and distribute requests. 
  • Assist in the distribution of records to clients. 
  • Review records. 
  • Process payments for records. 
  • Download medical records. 
  • Prepare authorizations/ special authorizations. 
  • Prepare FedEx labels and request for mailing 
  • Sort and file documents. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the business needs or customer requirements. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, but rather a general description of work performed by the position. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience:  

Previous administrative experience in an office environment. 

Preferred Work Experience:  

Previous background in medical terminology, life insurance industry, or customer service preferred. 

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and reach with hands and arms. 
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. (Typing) 
  • Work at a computer screen for prolonged periods. 

Knowledge:  

Basic knowledge of operating office equipment. 

Skills:  

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) necessary to effectively interact with clients and co-workers. 
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Type 30 wpm. 
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. 
  • Good organizational skills. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and all levels of staff and management. 
  • Must be able to work in a team environment. 
  • Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner. 


EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
