Basic Purpose:

The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of policies and programs which may include employee engagement, recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, and employee relations (in partnership with the Employee Relations team). The HR Generalist provides day-to-day HR support, including handling general HR questions, and managing a variety of HR processes and projects, both planned and ad-hoc. 

 
Duties and Responsibilities:
       
Supports all core HR Processes at a local level – Annual Total Compensation Planning,
Performance Management, Talent & Succession Planning, Employee Engagement
Survey, Change Management.

Provide HR consultation and be a support resource for people managers and employees.

Act as an employee engagement ambassador to create an inspiring workplace; including taking an active role in employee engagement events and activities both in planning and execution; soliciting employee feedback to formulate and monitor improvements; partnering with the Communications Specialist to support New Employee Onboarding sessions; and other duties as assigned.

Assist with a wide variety of projects, providing basic support to the HR team and leaders. May
include preparing correspondence to communicate with leaders and employees, forms and reports, arranging meetings, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines, and taking down minutes as needed.

Partner with various Functional groups across HR, including Organizational Effectiveness, Compensation, Workforce Analytics, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Employee Relations and the HR Service Center. Submit requests to the HR Service Center as needed (i.e. Unemployment Department inquiries).

Compile and organize employee-related data reports, both routine and project-based; provide basic analysis and consult with HR Business Partner(s) and/or Director, HR Business Partner as needed to synthesize data and translate into business outcomes.

Regularly analyze data and recognize irregularities and/or errors. Prepare appropriate
forms/data needed to update HRIS system data.

Escalate issues to Director, HR Business Partner as appropriate.

Maintain working knowledge of applicable state and federal labor laws, rules, and
regulations.

Qualifications:

Education Preferred: 

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent.

Work Experience:

4+ years of experience working in a human resources-related position.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, and
HRIS programs.

Tableau and Business Objects experience a plus.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Often required to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a
keyboard.

Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Other:

Mastery of general principles and practices of Human Resources Management.

Knowledge of Federal and State Employment laws and regulations, including but not
limited to FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, EEOC, NLRA, ERISA.

Maintains a strong level of integrity and exhibits a high level of confidentiality.

Strong leadership, teamwork, and relationship building skills.

Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to
communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and
express ideas in a confident, organized and articulate manner.

Ability to organize and analyze large datasets (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.), distinguish confidential data, detect and correct errors, interpret and report results.
