Job Description

Desert Pathology Medical Group, a fully owned subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics. Our mission is to provide accurate, clear and prompt diagnoses. We are currently seeking an experienced board-certified General Pathologist with expertise in hematopathology to join our practice in West Hills, California. This key position will offer the practice of full-time pathologist and will work with experienced Pathologists in a supportive, congenial atmosphere. Pathologists who join our practices will be expected to contribute to our reputation of service, specialization and expertise. Moreover, they will discover a strong physician focus and an understanding of the practice of Pathology.

As a Pathologist your key responsibilities are as such:

KEY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads and interprets results accurately and in a timely manner.

Routinely communicates with supervisors/managers and technical staff.

Develops and establishes measures to improve the quality of medical services provided by the practice

Available to customers, client services and staff for client consultations.

Collection of medical information required for interpretations.

Case follow-up, documentation and database management

Resolves problems through interaction with clients via appropriate means of communication.

Insures ethical and legal compliance regarding testing and confidentiality.

Serves as a resource and participates in the development of educational materials for staff.

Confers with division leaders, senior leaders, other managers and physicians to review practice operations and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.

Works in partnership with the Pathology leadership team and multiple practices to enhance customer relationships and revenue opportunities. 

Works in partnership with Human Resources for the recruitment, selection, retention and motivation of physicians and employees including training, development, and performance management.

Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients, vendors, and the Company.

EXPERIENCE:          

               Pathologist with hematopathology experience.

         Must be board certified AP/CP  with strong Hemepath and general surgical skills

 Two plus years post fellowship sign-out experience required

         Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations

         Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization

         Personal adaptability and ability to lead change.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS

•         Required:  Medical Degree

•         Required:  Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology

•         Desired: Sub-specialty hematopathology fellowship at an accredited facility

•         Required: Must hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in practice location or be eligible to obtain licensure

•         Desired: Current valid unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California
